NON PROFITS

  • Co Founder and General Counsel for First Friday Las Vegas

In October of 2002, “First Friday Las Vegas" was founded. For ten years, First Friday Las Vegas was produced by the 501 c 3 Non Profit Organization, Whirlygig, Inc. I was responsible for incorporating and applying to the State and the Internal Revenue Service to attain Non-Profit Status. Whirlygig's sole mission was to promote the development of the arts in Las Vegas. Whirlygig's flagship program was First Friday Las Vegas. Having secured the trademark "First Friday Las Vegas" and after a successful ten year growth, Whirlygig sold first Friday Las Vegas to Tony Hsieh, the Founder and owner of Zappos Shoes. I implemented fund raising initiatives, press relations, secured and developed relationships with area businesses, insurers and City of Las Vegas management departments.

First Friday Las Vegas brought an estimated 10,000 visitors a month to view artists in all media to Downtown Las Vegas.  First Friday Las Vegas serves as a monthly economic driver for the existing downtown businesses while furthering the economic development of the area as the natural home for new art related businesses, restaraunts and cafes.
